Young men who have higher income display a greater possibility of marriage and a lesser possibility of divorce. Young women who have higher income show a lesser possibility of marriage. Income does not have any impact on the possibility of divorce for young women.

It is omniscient that if an individual enters into marriage with realistic expectations, then the possibility of a successful result is more. Hence, it is recommended that young people must take into account the emotional, economical and family issues and repercussions of marriage with the person they have chosen.

• Young people, who belong to the age group of 19 to 24, are generally not prepared for the emotional commitment and the compromises that are very essential in marital life. The National Institute of Mental Health has conducted some studies from which it can be concluded that when an individual completes 25 years of age, a state of mental maturity is reached. Prior to 25, individuals make decisions on the basis of instincts and emotions rather than objective reasoning

• Young people have lesser job opportunities. Due to this and other socioeconomic reasons, they have to face financial difficulties

• Young people have difficulties in developing positive relations with their spouse's family members (i.e. the in-laws and their relatives). The reasons of this occurrence are dearth of maturity, emotional and social experience. Such behavior is specifically seen in case of those young people who are learning to be independent from their own parents

After a young marriage, the spouses experience considerable personal development. Their mind undergoes changes and they develop a robust feeling of identity. With such an altered mindset, they conclude that they would not have made the choice of marriage that they did in their younger days.
